2ND Daily
No modern life is not alway better then in the past. In the past every thing was cheaper. Just look at gas prices 3.05 a gallon and raising constantly. Also, other things such as gold, silver, other metals, cloths, and food have gone up tremendously. The "in" cloths cost $20 a shirt and not everyone has that kind of money. The jeans and pants everyone wears follow about the same price. Even movie tickets have gone up in price. $14 dollars for a movie ticket that is insane. 50 years ago u could get into movies and pay 50 cents. However, i am not saying that the present does not have its good parts to it. i love my new video games. i love my cell phone. I think it is amazing how in a blink of an eye you can send a message from one side of the planet to the other side threw an email that just amazes me. Another good thing about the modern day is the new machines we have for keeping people alive in hospitals. I mean if someone can take a bullet from twenty feet away in the head and still live that is one amazing feat. With modern day science that is not impossible. I guess the point that i am getting at is any time of age weather it be past present or future there will never be any "better" age all ages have their ups and their downs. It will be tis way forever.

1st daily
To determine if an elephant is better than a mammoth doesn't take a lot of thought. It's quite obvious that a mammoth is better. For one mammoths lived in the ice age and are woolly. i just want to give them a great big hug. Elephants what do they have? Sweet they got tough skin not very fun to hug. Plus, Elephants have giant ears there like look at me i am Dumbo. Mammoths are just like yea i am chill got myself some fur and bigger tusks. Elephants are fighting leopards in Africa mammoths where fighting off saber tooth tigers in the arctic tundra. However, it still would be enjoyable to have either as a pet. Too bad mammoths are dead. I would so love to have a big woolly beast as a pet/body guard if somebody tried to break in I would just be like yea my mammoth is going to kill you now. I would also save a lot of money on a car and insurance I would just ride my mammoth and or elephant everywhere. How awesome would that be like back off me Toyota Camry I got a mammoth. Just think about how economic friendly that would be. U wouldn’t have to use gas that would be released in the atmosphere. I would save money and I would be helping the environment double wammy. Also, my mammoth can not break down. If it gets tired we just take a nap. Elephants however wouldn’t like it up here because it is too cold for them.

At the begging the UK is ahead right at the dawn of the industrial age. When the US starts its industrial age it starts to pass the UK. In 1929 the CO2 dropped because the people in their industrial age finished. China comes into play around 1950. In the U.S. we emit more CO2 per person. In China they emit less per person they just have more people. Trinidad and Tobago started their industrial age in the 1940's. Same with all the other small countries even though they have smaller populations they still use more CO2 in their industrial age.
Question 12
The map tells us that just because you spend more on health doesn't mean your the most healthy in the world. The U.S. spends the most money on health and we dont have the best heath in the world.

question 6
The release of gases into the atmosphere changes climate. Mainly carbon dioxide from burning coal and oil. Human activity is definitly contributing to the climate change. We burn fossil fuels they let of gas and it destroys the atmosphere and those the greenhouse gases all out of wack. The snowfall in the northern hemosphere is actually below average by about 10% since 1987.
question 4

Question one of Human Geo final
the sudden dip on the graph is when the overseas arivals stop coming as much. Around 2001 less people where coming overseas. Statistics give data to explain events. Without data you have nothing to back up what you say. When looking at aids in Africa we used lots of data to educate ourselves on the reasons for it being there and how many people had it also how fast it was spreading.

Interview with other high schooler
Was it hard to learn English as a secondary language?
It was very hard to learn English. It is different from Spanish. English has so many rules and times when those rules apply and those and times they don’t apply still confuse me to this very day. Also, a lot of the time when I don’t know what the word means it makes me confuse whole sentences because I try to say it without the word.
Do you still speak Spanish at home with your family and friends? Why/why not?
Yes, actually my parents don’t understand English very well so I have to speak Spanish to them. It also causes some issues because they can’t help me with my homework. But it also works out because when I want to impress them I can say a couple sentences in English and they think I’m very smart. When we go back home to el Salvador for visiting family like my Papi and Nana they don’t speak any English so I have to speak Spanish to them.
How did you get to come to school in the United States of America?
Well my parents got citizenship here years ago and they had me so I was born a United States citizen. Getting to school required some help because my parents didn’t know where to send me. But I ended up getting into the public school system and now I go too Cockeysville high school.
Do you like it here in the United States?
I have lived here all my life so I don’t really have anything to compare it to but I do enjoy it here. I love being able to learn. At times I wish I could be somewhere else but I mostly really enjoy myself here so I’d have to say I definitely like it here.
Is it harder for you to learn since your first language isn’t English?
I mean it is a little bit harder but I do ok. Sure it takes me a little bit more work to keep up but I’m willing to put all my effort into it so I can get a good education and get a good job in the future. I study hard work hard and I pick up on things and remember them.
Would you have rather learned English as a first language?
I actually would not rather have learned English as a first language. Because I learned Spanish first with my family I can communicate with the people I love. If I hadn’t learned English first my family would be confused with me. I’m okay with working a little harder in school but if I had to work harder to understand my family I would not be ok with that.

If It Where my home
I stayed in Argentina for a year. I soon realized that the people there are different from us. For one they use a lot less energy 81% less energy than us approx. (ifitweremyhome). They also make a lot less money than us but they spend less on energy and oil and health care.
Many small stores close between 1pm-5pm while families’ head home to have a big mid-day meal with their families. Hanging out with friends and spending time with your family is very important in Argentina. Meals and meal times differ a lot as well. Breakfast isn’t a very big meal or a big deal. You wake up and eat maybe a piece of toast. Lunch is the most important and happens between 12 and 2pm. This is the biggest meal. Dinner is not as big as lunch and usually is leftovers or sandwiches. Dinner is eaten around 8pm or as late as 11pm.
In Argentina people dress a little nicer. You’ll find men wearing jeans or nice dress pants and dress shoes. Often wearing soccer jerseys or t-shirts. Women tend to dress up in more feminine cloths. You won’t find many women in sneakers. Especially at night when the go out they are wearing dressy cloths and nice shoes.
In the mid-day a lot of the time when we didn’t have big meals we met up with friends at a cafĂ© or place like that. We also spent a lot of our time playing soccer. In Argentina much like here they love to pass the time playing sports if there not playing soccer there biking water skiing hiking and more. They like Americans watch movies in movie theaters as well. And when the movies aren’t in Spanish they have Spanish subtitles.
People in Argentina love beef. Nearly every home has a barbeque area. They celebrate occasions with beef. If not cooked at home cooked at a restaurant. Another thing they love to eat are called empanadas which are dough with all kinds of meat inside of them. They drink tea all the time. And there are very few vegetarians in argentina.
