Question 10

I learned more things in this semester then i have learned ever. This semester was packed with my favorite time periods and my favorite topics. The middle ages are the best. Even though i have been studying middle ages since i was in the thirdgrade i still learned soooooooo much. Also, i never knew any of the information before the middle ages till this year. Rome was extremly interesting. The best part about this year was that i actually liked learning about this history. It was taught at a more interesting and more eye opening way. It wasn't a boring history lesson it was an active class discussion and i loved it. Mr Wojo thank you and you will be missed. See you at PENSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

question 9

Leonardo de vinci is a renaissance man. He could paint, sculpt, invent, and pretty much everything else. He was a mathematician and a scientist he wrote music. This guy could do it all.  He painted the famous painting of the last supper. He invented the schematics for a hand glider. Leonardo also wrote songs. He truly is a renaissance man.
Thats not all Leonardo did. People respected him for everything he did. He may of seemed crazy too some but his inventions led up to the modern day inventions we have today. If he hadn't invented the hand glider we wouldn't have the helicopter. and he also invented things that led up to the modern day tank. Leonardo de vinci is the deffinition of Renaissance man.

Romanesque Cathedrals were all about protection and how god will protect you in times of need. These cathedrals had very little windows and where built think and for protection. When getting attacked the village could flee to the cathedral for protection. The cathedrals where sturdy and strong.

Gothic cathedrals where all about letting the light into your life. These cathedrals had huge windows to let light in. There belief was that god is wonderful and you should depend on him for everything not just protection. These cathedrals where more designed not so much thick and strong but elgeant and elaberate.

The black plague caused nose bleeds, tumors in the groin and armpits, Black spots covered the body, it often killed within three days. Some techniecs used to help with the plague where leaches, amputation, herbal remedies, and witch doctors.

If the black plague hit the US every medical student, teacher and scientist would be working furiously for a cure. Just as we are for cancer. The people of the US would be fearful and probably stay away from others. Some would flee the states if they had money. people would do everything they could to get away from it. People would be fearful, people would be scared and some people wouldn't know what to do. But, scientist would probably find a cure eventually.

question 6

I am not the bad guy here. This is my land that you are taking. It is muslim holy land to. We allow you to take pilgrimages here why do you attack my people? Why do you slaughter 3000 of my men? did i not let your people live inside my city? Saladin is not a bad evil ruler.

I am the saladin. I do not want to fight. But if you come into my land i will have no choice. This is our prophets land as well as your holy land. We should live in peace not destroy our holy land. The muslims do not want trouble we just want peace and to preserve the holy land. We are not the bad guys.

question 4

Herodotus writes down everything and Thucydides writes not as much down but gets better information.
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/05/12/first-new-identification-of-911-victim-since-2009/?ref=sept112001 This article follows Herodotus's style. the author of this article wrote down all the facts about this man who was found. He wrote down a lot of facts and everything the reporter found out they wrote it down. This follows Herodotus's style.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/25/nyregion/man-once-believed-a-risk-to-city-is-memorialized.html?_r=1&ref=sept112001   Jim dawyer wrote down only the most important facts for this article. He didn't write everything that he could find he picked out the good facts and put them in which follows Thucydides .

The Egyptians believed that once your dead your spirit or "ka" stays around with your body. They believe that when we die our ka has to be weighed with the feather of maat. If your ka weighed more then the feather you where damned for eternity if your ka was less or even with the feather you would pass on to forever resting place of peace.

The Greeks believe that the moment you die your spirit leaves your body in a little breath. The Greeks had elaborate burial techniechs. They would do all kinds of body preparation then put you in a high bed in your house for people to pay your respects. Greeks thought very highly of death and they did not see it as a very sad time. they were sad for the passing but they were happy for there eternal resting.

question 2

View Neolithic revolution in a larger map

The neolithic age made people not have to follow game anymore they could settle down and farm. This caused lots of farmers to settle together so they could watch one anothers fields.  This is how cities where started.  But as
Stone Age peoples became more adept at cultivating a growing range of crops,
including protein-rich legumes such as peas and beans, various fruits, and
olives, the effort they expended on activities outside agriculture diminished. (R. A. Guisepi)
http://history-world.org/neolithic.htm

The land has grown dry from the heat. It is unfarmable and we cannot gather crops. We are left to hunting and  gathering once again and this isn't working because the animals are dying from lack of food. we are hungry and we are weak. We are in need of a miracle.

If this ever happened int the future people would be in serious trouble. Without farming nobody would be able to get there fruits, vegetables, or there animals.  Everyone would be in trouble without farming we cannot return to our old hunter gatherer ways because all the animals have been forced out of there homes due to construction.

Worst job in history

The Job I would least want to have it a stone mason. Stone masons probably had the worst job ever. They worked log hard hours and would most likely die early. First they had to do the long hard tedious job of splitting the stones. This was extremely hard because everything was done by hand you had to hammer in the stakes and this would be very tiring. Then you had to cart your blocks to the building sites. This would take a very long time and would be very difficult considering the weight of the limestone.  Then came the dangerous part. Once the limestone was transported it had to be shaped then added to the building. To hold the stones in place the Stonemason had to make cement with chalk. But if they didn’t do the chalk part right you would die to the carbon monoxide released.  So there is the strain on your muscles from the hard work of cutting out the blocks. The long hard and painful task of transporting the blocks. Finally, there is the dangerous and lethal job of making cement that will kill you if you make a simple mistake or fall asleep and don’t keep an eye on it.

Freshman year

Brenden has had an extremely eventful year. He started out the year not so sure about where he was and hated where he was put. He quickly earned the nickname Chicken Little or Birdman jr. He played soccer and shut a team out for the first win in 2 years. Brenden started doing parkour and got pretty good. He still has a lot to learn but he will continue with it. One of the major events of this year was going to his first concert ever in October and finding his calling to music. Brenden baught a synth and is saving up for an 800 dollar percution pad now. Brenden also played lacross this year for the first time. He scored his first goal within the first half of the season. Brenden also started talking to a sophmore from North Harford and began a commited relationship with her. The young performer has started writing his own music and is looking for members for his newly found band called “Remember The King.” Brenden has found a grp of friends to hang out with as well. This is very different from the beginning of the year when he had no one to hang out with. He has ran for president twice and we don’t know if he won the second time yet. He won a basketball championship with a team he had never met before the season. He proved to be and exceptional and important aspect to the teams defence. Brenden has been working a lot more since februray and hpes to be able to afford his percution ad soon and make music his full time occupation in the future. Brenden was in his cousins band until an incident with the drummer and guitarist which causedBrenden and the Leader of the band to leave. Brendens freshman year has turned out to be much better then what he excpected to be and is actually enjoying himself. The most memorable experience this entire year was the time brenden went to snowflake with his date and then she didn’t want to dance so he went with his cousins and ne of there date’s bestfriend’s date ws being a jerk. So we danced together and now were having a lot of fun together. This has been one of the craziest, funnest, scariest, and best yeas of the young students life. He is off to a great start.

weekly 9 final

The invention of the codex greatly impacted the middle age’s culture. For one it was the new way of keeping records and writing down information. The codex Was more condensed and durable so records and other important documents were less likely to get lost or destroyed. The codex was the bridge into modern day books. The Codex was the first ever book like design. It is important to learn about the things that impacted the middle ages because they greatly impacted society today and the culture of their day; the codex is a great example of middle aged events that impacted todays life and culture in the middle ages.  It is not important to study the middle ages culture.
Before the codex the records and writings where written on papyrus.(Figure 1)Papyrus was not as durable and sturdy as the codex so it did not last as long. Also, the codex had a hard cover to protect the writings inside of it. The codex made for a longer lasting and safer way to keep teachings and records of the Middle Ages on a written source.
The Codex was more convenient to use. The codex holds considerable practical advantages over other book formats, such as compactness, sturdiness, ease of reference (a codex israndom access, as opposed to a scroll, which is sequential access)( David Diringer)The Codex could hold multiple writings inside of it. The people living at this time could just look inside the codex instead of having to fin al the different scrolls. The codex followed a pattern as well it was not all over the place. The codex was orderly.
“Great nations write their autobiographies in three manuscripts - the book of their deeds, the book of their words and the book of their art.” (pigott) the 6th century everything was written in a codex. This shows how the culture of writing and language arts was changed. The codex itself was revolutionary to the language arts and art of writing things down.
The codex made a lot of things easier. It was easier to write down information and records and it was easier to find information and records. Without the invention of the codex everything would still be written on one page papyrus. The thousands of pages text books we use would be thousands of papyrus scrolls. It would be much harder to keep from getting lost and a lot harder to use. It is important to learn about events and inventions of the Middle Ages so we can better understand the Middle Ages culture

Cathedrals Final draft

Romanesque and Gothic Cathedrals played a huge part on life in the early years of European life. However, even though they were both cathedrals they meant two different things and where made for different purposes. The Romanesque and Gothic Cathedrals where two like buildings that were completely different. Romanesque and Gothic cathedrals represented two different views on theological belief, Romanesque believed that God would hold up and defend them, Gothics believed that God would bring light to their lives; these theological differences are expressed` in architecture. Romanesque and Gothic Cathedrals did not mean anything about theology.
The Romanesque and Gothic Cathedrals exterior structures where very different. Romanesque cathedrals where all about defense with no low lying windows and thick walls no big windows either (figure 1). In the gothic cathedrals we see a much different structure with low lying windows and big windows along with very thin walls (figure 1-1). The Romanesque cathedrals where built this way because of the belief that god will bring them protection against their enemies or sin.  The Gothic Cathedrals focused in on how God brings light to the world. There was no need for the extra layers of wall thin walls made the church blend with its elegant windows. Also, both types of cathedrals where very large because they were central points of the civilization.
The interior structures of the cathedrals also where very different. On the Romanesque cathedral side we had large heavy pillars on the inside and dark filled corridors (Figure 2). On the gothic side of this idea we have beautiful elegant stained glass windows along with thin divine artistic looking pillars (figure 2-1). This meant that the Romanesque Cathedrals focused more on how god will support us and hold up the heavy burdens of our lives.  The Gothic cathedrals focused in on how god brings beauty to the world. Also, The Gothic cathedrals really dial in on expressing their compassion for all God has done for them by being more expressive in their architecture.
Also the two Cathedrals where looked at and used for different purposes. In the Romanesque Cathedrals we have a garrison looking structure used for protection where their city could retreat in times of need (figure 3). In the Gothic Cathedrals they are looked at more of a celebratory building. Used to really honor the mighty God they served(structure 3-1).  The Romanesque Cathedrals where heavily fortified making them for great sources for protection. The Gothic Cathedrals were very bright and very colorful setting the atmosphere to praise God in. Also, The Romanesque Cathedrals where hard to breech so it was ideal to take cover there.
Romanesque and Gothic Cathedrals; two completely different structures that look incredibly similar. One used to celebrate God. The other was used to protect the city from siege. Romanesque and Gothic Cathedrals represent different spiritual beliefs.  Both however, Are magnificent structures built through history.

Romanesque and Gothic Cathedrals played a huge part on life in the early years of European life. Fall of Rome Final

“As the happiness of a future life is the great object of religion, we may hear, without surprise or scandal, that the introduction, or at least the abuse, of Christianity had some influence on the decline and fall of the Roman Empire.” (Gibbon) The Empire split due to religion. Instead of being in camps worshiping the emperor, people where in synods worshiping their gods. This caused the emperors to get annoyed and Tyranny began. While religion played a large role in the fall of the Roman Empire, it still also lessened the violence. Due to Constantine’s conversion to Christianity, the conquerors of the Roman Empire where mollified.
“The decay of Rome has been frequently ascribed to the translation of the seat of empire; but this history has already shown that the powers of government were divided rather than removed.”(Gibbon) Rome was not really one empire. It was more so two smaller empires put together, the east and west. The Byzantine Empire, the east, was ruled by one emperor. However, the West side was ruled by a series of emperors.  This set up made the Byzantine Empire slightly stronger and more organized then the west Roman Empire and would eventually be the cause of the Byzantine Empire conquering the Roman Empire.
“But the decline of Rome was the natural and inevitable effect of immoderate greatness. Prosperity ripened the principle of decay.” (Gibbon)The Roman Empire collapsed itself. It was surprising that it lasted as long as it did. The military seized the freedom of the republic. Also, the legions in the army challenged the higher class which caused the Emperors to become corrupt. After the emperors where corrupt what good would come for the empire? It was all about the Emperor.
Rome started off as a strong powerful empire. But through many errors in ways and some bad judgment decisions by the Emperors the Empire did fall. The empire splitting in two really started the whole fall of Rome. But, the whole set up of the empire makes it surprising that it ever lasted how long it did. The Roman Empire was once a great civilization but then came crashing down.

Fall of the Roman Empire: Rough

The Roman Empire started as a great civilization. Julius Caesar set the city up to prosper.  Also, other emperors expanded and made the Empire into the large power of its age. The problem began when the Nation split into two, the east and the west.  The Empire of Rome started off as a great power and then fell and was changed into a completely different civilization. However, in some ways the Roman Empire was formed into something different.
“As the happiness of a future life is the great object of religion, we may hear, without surprise or scandal, that the introduction, or at least the abuse, of Christianity had some influence on the decline and fall of the Roman Empire.” (Gibbon) The Empire split due to religion. Stoicism Final draft

Stoicism is a philosophy of life. In Stoicism people control their emotions and stop their feelings so they can stay focused. If someone falls in battle Stoics must stay focused so they don’t face the same fate. Emotions are distractions and in Stoicism those distractions are eliminated. Stoicism is a belief that when faced with hardships emotions are controlled and are restrained from taking over; events surrounding Seneca's death are perfect illustrations of Stoicism in action. But, Seneca did show some signs of weakness in his Stoicism and at times wasn't a very good model.
“At the same time he called them back from their tears to manly resolution, now with friendly talk, and now with the sterner language of rebuke. "Where," he asked again and again, "are your maxims of philosophy, or the preparation of so many years' study against evils to come?” (Tacitus) This quote basically says don’t feel sad for Seneca because our philosophy tells us they don’t need to get emotional about evils. Seneca is trying to make his friends realize that even though he will pass they need to stay focused and concentrate on the future not to weep over the past. Seneca is setting the example of Stoicism into his friends.
"He had no reason," he said, for "preferring the interest of any private citizen to his own safety, and he had no natural aptitude for flattery. No one knew this better than Nero, who had oftener experienced Seneca's free spokenness than his servility." When the tribune reported this answer in the presence of Poppaea and Tigellinus, the emperor's most confidential advisers in his moments of rage, he asked whether Seneca was meditating suicide.(tacitus)” Seneca is speaking his mind. He has no feelings towards the men sent after him he just spoke to them his mind. He didn’t believe what Nero was doing so he spoke out against it like he did many times before. Stoics are not afraid of consequences they have no emotion. Seneca is the ideal example of this.
“Seneca, quite unmoved, asked for tablets on which to inscribe his will” (Tacitus) This quote shows real life proof of Stoicism. Seneca was told he was to be put to death but didn’t show emotion or feeling from this at all. Seneca was unmoved the quote says Seneca is going to die and is more focused on writing his will then begging to live. He blocks out emotion and feeling and is able to stay focused.

Stoicism isn’t just an attitude; Stoicism is a way of life. This change in stoic’s attitudes makes their lives completely different. Seneca used this as a way to keep his mind focused. Seneca did not show emotion throughout his entire execution. He showed no sign of weakness and gave the “bad guys” no satisfaction that he would break to their accusations.  Stoicism is summed by saying no emotion no feeling through any circumstances; Seneca is the perfect and ideal model of Stoicism.

Peer critique

News Flash: Starting tomorrow, April 7th, we will stop doing dailies. Instead, we will be concentrating on the weekly essays. This week's rough draft we are finishing in class. From then on, every Wednesday you will have a rough draft due for Peer review (you'll receive participation credit: P/F for having the draft ready). On your rough draft, please underline the thesis statement and in a different color prove it is an opinion by writing the opposite side; underline one quote properly cited with in-text citations for each body paragraph; make bold your four-sentence analysis of each quote; analysis should explain how the quote serves to support your thesis. After peer review, a final draft will be due on Fri by Midnight.

Eleven-Point Critique (for peer reviews and grading of final drafts)

1. 5 paragraphs -- 5 to 7 sentences per paragraph.

2 Clear, coherent thesis statement expressing an opinion to be argued in the paper.

3. One quote or piece of sourcable evidence properly cited in APA format per body paragraph / proper in-text citation format

(author, date). APA format bibliography at end of paper. Use top-notch sources (BBC, Met Museum, Nat Geo, Internet History

Sourcebook, school-library based databases, etc.)

4. Four sentences per body paragraph analysis. This is your own analysis demonstrating how the evidence supports your thesis.

5. Solid conclusion demonstrating the validity of the argument.

6. Emphasis: Put strongest evidence in the fourth paragraph.

7. No 1st or 2nd person personal pronouns (I, we, us, me, my, myself, you, etc.)

8. Academic Tone: No slang, no contractions, make it coherent and readable.

9. Avoid generalizations -- give specific information; I'm not looking for you to write an "encyclopedia" article. I'm looking for

your ability to construct an academic argument.

10. Avoid unnecessary information: "more" quotes doesn't mean a "better" paper.

11. Original and honest writing voice and a creative and remarkable take on the subject.

Stoics are not afraid of consequences they have no emotion. Seneca is the ideal example of this.
Stoicism isn’t just an attitude. Stoicism is a way of life. This change in their attitudes makes their lives completely different. Stoicism is summed up by saying no emotion no feeling through any circumstances; Seneca is the perfect and ideal model of Stoicism.

daily 1 week 9

"are your maxims of philosophy, or the preparation of so many years' study against evils to come? Who knew not Nero's cruelty? After a mother's and a brother's murder, nothing remains but to add the destruction of a guardian and a tutor."
"I have shown you ways of smoothing life; you prefer the glory of dying. I will not grudge you such a noble example. Let the fortitude of so courageous an end be alike in both of us, but let there be more in your decease to win fame."
From Apollonius I learned freedom of will and undeviating steadiness of purpose; and to look to nothing else, not even for a moment, except to reason; and to be always the same, in sharp pains, on the occasion of the loss of a child, and in long illness; and to see clearly in a living example that the same man can be both most resolute and yielding, and not peevish in giving his instruction;
Alexander the grammarian, to refrain from fault-finding, and not in a reproachful way to chide those who uttered any barbarous or solecistic or strange-sounding expression;
From Maximus I learned self-government, and not to be led aside by anything;

week 8 daily 3

The people who killed Julius Caesar were justified by their actions completely. The people who killed Julius Caesar were magistrates who assassinated him because he declared himself dictator. The first person to try and kill him was Casca but when Caesar blocked his attack and fought back Casca called for the other senators to come out and kill Caesar.  It is estimated that around 60 men came to kill Caesar and participated and Caesar was stabbed 23 times. The group that killed Caesar called themselves the liberators. After the death of Julius Caesar the lower class and the middle class accused the group of aristocrats and thus ended the Roman republic. Antony, seeing that the republic was weak, seized the opportunity to step in and try to end the republic, probably with the idea of ruling Rome himself. However, Julius Caesar left and adopted son to control Rome when he had passed and the son’s name was Julius Octavian. Octavian vowed that he would avenge his father’s death and rid Rome of the liberators and have Brutus and Cassius killed. Antony, Octavian and Lepidus, who was also named by Caesar Caesar’s master of the horse Lepidus,, who was also named by Caesar Caesar’s master of the horse Lepidus, all went to war against the group called the liberators in two wars and the army led by Brutus and Cassius was defeated at Philippi and they were killed. So in conclusion, the liberators were justified for the killing of Rome’s ruler and had what was coming to them.

week 8 daily 2

Rome was first a republic then switched to an empire. In my opinion Rome succeeded better as an Empire. When Rome was a republic there were many problems between the people of the higher classes, Aristocrats, and the people in the lower classes, the Plebes.  In the Roman republic everything was based around the Senate and the Senate was controlled by the Patricians. The Patricians did not look at the impact things had on the Plebes just what it had on the rich Patricians. But as and Empire the Romans had more order. Everything and everyone was under the command of the emperor. Some emperors leaned more towards the Patricians others towards the Plebes. But overall the Plebes gained much more power. Also, the romans militarily and economically and in technological advances became so much better (and I say that leniently). In military means the Roman Empire gained much more land as an Empire led by the Generals appointed by the Emperor. Economically the whole city of Rome became more prosperous by giving more power and opportunity for the Plebes. After all and country is only as rich as its poorest class, in the romans case the Plebes. Also in technological advances some of the emperors invented great things to advance technology and make Rome run much more smoothly. Such as Claudius who made more advanced river systems and religious reforms which shaped the Roman society in a big impacting way. Over all the Romans just achieved much greater achievements as an empire.

Week 8 daily1

The Julio-Claudians were not all as bad as historians make them seem. However, a couple of the Julio-Claudians made their name disgraced and laughed upon. Possibly one of the craziest, most out of his mind, worst of the Julio-Claudians was Nero. Nero was so crazy and delusional that he set his own city of fire, which is known as the great fire. Nero stood atop the wall and played the fiddle or sang portions of the ilium while the city around him burned. After the city was burned, Nero blamed the Christians and as a result of this had the Christians prosecuted and thrown into lions dens to become eaten. He also got into an argument with his mother. Nero wanted to get a divorce but his mother would not let them. He got into a big argument with her and then he had her killed. If all of this does not prove how crazy and out of his mind Nero was he thought his magistrates were plotting against him so he had them all assassinated. Each and every last one of them killed just because of his crazy thought. Claudius also was a crazy wako of a ruler. One of his enjoyed “activities” was chaining people up and throwing them off cliffs. He also was sick early on in his rule over Rome and never really did become sane after the incident.  While the Julio-Claudians were not the nicest rulers they still had some contributions that were good but overall the Julio-Claudians were not mentally stable to be ruling an empire.

daily 4 week 7

Hannibal, or in his language to his people known as hanba’al, was born in Carthage ,the main seaport of the large Mediterranean sea, in 247 B.C.  His father was the general of Carthage’s army and his name was Hamilcar Barca. At this time Carthage and Rome where mortal enemies after the Romans had beaten them in the first Punic war and took Sicily. Hannibal’s father, Hamilcar, raised Hannibal to despise the Romans with the intensity in all his heart.  When Hannibal was only six he had to take a blood pact to be mortal enemies and general rivals of Rome for the rest of his life. Hannibal kept this pact with him his whole life. In 218 B.C. he took a massive army into southern Spain who would travel over numerous mountain ranges including the Alps with war elephants. Hannibal marched strait around Rome down the eastern side of Italy and then came around the tip and headed North straight for Rome and at the battle of Cannae he defeated Rome.  Hannibal did deserve his title as a monster. He massacred towns and showed no mercy on the Romans. He crushed them leaving none alive. However, He really had no choice this was how he was raised. Just like how we learn to tie our shoes from our parents, Hannibal learned to hate the Romans from his father. You really can’t blame the Romans for calling him a monster and treating him like one and you especially can’t blame Hannibal for the way he acts because nobody taught him different this was Hannibal this was who he was.

daily 3 week 7

The struggle of the orders in ancient Rome was directly influential on the later roman political system. In order to understand this I have to start by going over the struggle of the orders. The struggle of the orders was the way the political legal system was set up at first. In this system the senate was only occupied by the higher class of patricians or aristocrats. The lower class of plebeians was not involved in this at all.  However, the aristocrats made the laws in the senate and passed them without the Plebes in mind. There for the Plebes could not be in the senate but were directly affected by the laws passed by the senate. The Plebes did not like how the senate was run so they protested it. The conflict caused and uprising almost to the point where there was a civil war. Nobody wants to go to war so the Plebes and the aristocrats got together and discussed solutions. The solution they came up with that became the political system was still a senate, but it created a highly influential position for one Plebe. This Plebe would be in the senate and had a unique power. He could veto, or deny, proposals by the senate that would affect the Plebes negatively. This made the Plebes more satisfied and calmed the protest. At this time the Plebes where given a large power amongst the senate and now had great power for one of the first times. Both the Plebes and the patricians where satisfied with the agreement.

Daily 2 week 7

My future in ancient Rome did not look too bright. At the time of 464 B.C. I would be invading Carthage the greatest naval power of their time. I would be at war with the Carthaginians for twenty three years. I would be invading the island of Sicily taking over many of the cities there that were owned by Carthage.  When the Carthaginians attempt to raise their fleet we will crush them and blaze through. This will be the first time Carthage won’t rule the sea. Neither side of this battle, Carthage and Rome, really won the first Punic war. Carthage signed a peace treaty and gave Rome their island that the war was fought on Sicily. War was my future as a man in the times of Rome in 464 B.C. However, in this modern age I probably will not be going to war. In this day and age I will be in battle not in a war sense but in a political and economic sense. I will probably be a man of business fighting battles with other companies not with other armies. I will be wining by receiving more income not by defeating an army. In the end in this modern time it comes down to was I successful economically. Where as in the ancient Roman times it was am I still alive. My future in the past was far more risky but asserted my dominance over others and my future in this modern day is proving my dominance over other smaller companies.

This concrete floor was influenced by the romans because the romans invented the use of concrete in buildings.
